Haven boycotters. whose action in refer
once to the Journal and Courier led to
their conviction in the lower courts and
affirmation in the finding in the supremo
court of errors. came up for sentence on
Tuesday, before Judge Sanford, of the
superior court. He said that; should any-
body hereafter be convicted of boycot-

\V. P. Foss, formerly of this city, is
manifgcr of the Clinton Dynamite Com~
parry. His company is having a build-
ing erected near Yonkers, N'. Y.,, for
manufacturing purposes, and for some
time past they have been occupying some,
old buildings in Plattsburgwhich have
been partially demolished séveral times
by explosions. On Sunday morning an
explosion of eight hundred pounds of
nitro-glycerine took place, which shock~
tent. A few rods from the exploded
factory is located the magazine, asmall
wooden building. In it; was stored three
and one-half tons of powder, ready for
shipment. The side was blown out of
this» building, but luckily this great
amount of powder did not explode. Mr.

The marriage i‘errinoiiy was performed
by Rev. Mr. L‘lapp of St. Paul‘s church at
6.30 o‘clock, in the presence of relatives
and intimate friends-of the family, and
at 7.30 a reception was held which was
largely attended. The bride was halid—
somely attired in a white satin dress with
point lace front and waist. Around her
neck she wore an el cgant pearl necklace
from which was suspended a prudent
composed of diamonds; One end of the
large front parlor was tastefully decora-
ted with flowersaud the arrangement of
the white drapery with burning candles
very much resembled an altar. the ef-
fect of which was very pretty. The
gifts which the couple received were not
only valuable but were conspicuous for
their variety and choice work of art. A
New York caterer furnished an excel-
lent collation, and with a fine orchestra
the affair was a grand success. Mr. and
Mrs. Groesbcck left this city for New
York on the 12333 train, and will start,
for St. Paul, their future home, in a few
days, Guests were present from dif-
ferent parts of the country to celebrate
the happy event.

Noyes Barber, who is at the Bridge-
port Hospital, under treatmcnt, writes
us: "I saw an itt-in in the Bridgeport
’ost of my admission to this hospital
which was entirely wrong. I served one
enlistincnt as prlvatc in the l‘lth New
York Volunteer Infantry. I then came
to my native state and went. out as ser-
geant in the First Connecticut Cavalry,
and was afterward transferred as Pay~
master‘s Clerk in the U. S. Navy. My
trouble is locomotive ataxie, which
means loss of power in luv lower limbs,
it. Ira-3 been gradually coming on me for
twoyears, so that now, in order to walk,
I have to watch my feet, and if I close
my eyes down I go. This allliction has,
I think, caused some to think me at
times under the influence of liquor. I
have a poor comrade here who was in
my regiment, who has been falling with
the same disease for four years until now
be is unable even to feed himself. I have
a strong constitution. and everything
possible will be done .for me to enable me
to recover the use of my limbs. It is a
lonesome place here for me, but I know
it is the only place at which I can get
the proper treatment.
