Death hasAagitin visited the home of
Mrs.Tcte, on Henry street, and taken
away quite suddenly her daughter Katie,
aged about 1‘2 years. The funeral took
place Thursday evening and the body
was taken to Newbur'g yesterday for
burial in the Newburg cemetery. The
sympathy of this place goes out to the
bereaved mother.

The residents of GroveStreet have had
a bit of scandal to discuss among thcm~
selves this week. A “luster" from New
York recently engaged by Fancher d:
t‘o., shoe manufactures. went to Ruton
Point last. Saturday. and when he re~
turned to his boarding house he brought
with hint his wife. t?) whom he said l‘e
had very unexpectedly met there. On
Monday evening about eignt o’clock, a
well dressed lady knocked at the front
door of the Grove street boarding house,
and enquired if a Mr. \Vhite regidod
there. Upon being admitted, she dIS~

pany with her husband, and then there
was a scene—in fact. there. were two of
them—as the landlady had her “say,”
after the injured wife had expressed her
