ful and attractive in appearance, and al-
though almost entirely unknown to the
theatrical profession of this country her
friends claim for her soubrette ability or
no mean character. Her style somewhat
resembles that of Annie Pixley. She has
secured from Messrs. Thom n and
Green the right. to produce their play. It
is believed that in "Cbispa" she will find
the best opportunity for the display of
her varied talents. The play wrll be
roduced in the cast a few weeks hence.

Noxou. Albert a‘roomey, and the coe-
tumes will beentirely now. After a short
season of four weeks the lady will return
to England. and in the fall wtll begin
the regular season, Opening _at aNew

(‘aptain Frederick Perkins of New
York. who is at irosent general agent of
the Knickerboc er Steamboat City of
Albany. plying daily between South
Norwalk. \Vilson Point and New York,
is one of the oldest steamboat men in the
country, having commenced nearly 50
years ago as purscr of the steamer Anso-
nia of the Naugatuck Steam Navigation
Company running between New York
and Derhv. CL. and later attached to the
steamer Catalina between this city and
New York. at the same time that Cap-
tain. now Harbor Master Join: McNeil
held a popular boat. Captain Perkins
is now engaged writing reminiscences
of his experiences. and will intersperse
them with brief sketches of men whom
he knew tutimately, or with whom he
had businssé relations. Among the lat-
ter will appear a number from this city.
but none more prominently than he
whose name appears at the close of the

to Nor-walk in 1834. and went next ‘year
to New Haven. In 1829 I took charge
of a boat to Nor-walk again. with a view
of extending the line to Bridgeport
which was my native place. In 18“, I
commanded the steamer Weatcheater.
and after the Nimrod 0 position, the
steamer Fail-field. I left ew York at 6
a. m., and Norwalk about 1 p. m., atop-
‘ng at Saw Pitts. Tho run to Saw
itts was about 21} hours, and 4} hours
10 Nor-walk. I remained in Norwalk for
stages from Bridgeport. Fairfleld and
New Canaan. I kept no record of time,
but think it was about 44} hours to Nor-
walk includin§ the landing at Saw Pitta.
