It was voted that a certilied copy of
these resolutions be handed to Senator
Smith.
The question was asked during the
meeting if the desired property could be
purchased was for sale. Mr. .\laples
said a telegram had been received stilt-
ing that it was not. Mr. llottiiecter then
mored to adjourn. but the meeting was
in a giving mood. and voted to buy tiiid
give it to the county anyhow. Late
information confirms the statement
made by Mr. Maples.
The countv representatives met at the
capitol on Vednesday. at one o‘clock
. m.. for the purpose of further con-
alder-lug the matter of anew court house.
Representative Hart, of Stamford. in the
chair. A large delegation was present
from Bridgeport. court having adjourned
to enable the members of the bar of that
lace to attend. They were present as a

being prevented. Discussion of the mat-
ter came up on a motion of Senator
Smith, of Norwalk. to reconsider the

ceeding $125,000. Senator Smith pre—
sented a certified copy of the resolution
of the town meeting of Norwalk. offer-
ing the Lockwoodproperty. and gave in
detail the inducements of that property
