Next Monday BuffalOIBill‘s Wild West
will exhibit at the fair grounds. This Is
the original Wild West; with the origi-
nal Buffalo Bill. which gave such a eats
isfactory exhibition at the same place
last year. The company is composed
almost entirely of Western Plains celes
brities and the famous sitting Bull and
several of his advisers. cldes there
are several representatives of Indian
tribes. Cowboys and Mexicans: the orig~
inal Deadwood Coach,_ Bozardus and
his family. Miss Annie Oakley. the
greatest markswoman. Mustang Joe.
There are also herds of buffalo, wild
steers. Indian ponies. etc. The enter-
tainment is a truthful representation of
life on the frontier and is exciting in
the extreme. and ought to be seen by
every one. Nearly seven thousands
people witnessed the exhibition last year
and the attendance will probably be even
greater next Monday. Special trains
will be run on the Danbury & Norwalk
railroad.

of the Benjamin Isaacs Masonic Benevo~

long programme was heartily applaud-id.

A special school meeting was held at
the Franklin street school house Monday
'evciiing to consider the necessity for an
addition to the school house to accommo-
date the scholars in the primary de—

district committee said that numerous

the erection of an addition on the

Foster Brothers are building a new
cottage at Iicll Island. for ti. ti. Durant.

Roton Point was very largely patroniz-
ed on the Fourth. it being estimated by
manager Ackert that about boon visited
the place during the day and evening.
The Young Bachelors excursion from
llaiibury was delayed by an accident. to
the locomotive. and did not reach the
Point iiniil afternoon. The steamer
Leviness brought over a small rty
from Long Island. and then help the
Plate carry the crowds from this city to
the Point. which were larger than ever
before. Sailing excursions from a large
number of places visited the Point dur—
ing the day. and teams from every~

with fine music. The skating rink was

and Methodist Sunday schools of this
City will give a union excursion to Glen

8 a. m.. and returning. leave Glen Is-

this famous and delightful summer. re~
sort will need no urging to take advan-
tage of this ripimrtunity to visit it again
at the very low price of 50 cents. They

OBITI’ARY.
John Holland.
John Holland. who died Tuesday
morning. came to this city about eight
years ago. as candy maker for Mr. Frank
Mead. A few months later he purchas-
ed the business. and has conducted it
very successfully in Lender's block. hav—
lug added toit bakery and ice cream
branches. His death was caused by
Brights disease of the kidneys, and for
several weeks be had been confined to
the hOIIIG. Mr. Holland was a hard—
working, honest man, had succeed-
e-l in securing a comfortable competency.

At the conclusion of the installation
exercises a very interesting paper on

pleasant feature of these exercises was
two well rendered recitations by Mr.

got up there was plenty left on the
tables. but those who got up had done
their best to relieveI them. The return
was by special train on which things
were kept very lively by the drum corps
and the “Sagwa tribe“ which gave a
half hour performance at the fair
grounds while the train was waiting on
the switch.
