The Connecticut Sons of Veterans. in
common with the other, have received

Potomac at its next meeting in Balti~

look upon this young organization. in

survivors of the war for the union. the
survivors of the past, and the care of

The household of Rev. B. J. Relyea of
Green: Farms. for the past few weeks
has been an afflicted one. Albert Relyea
Ezq. a son was brought home from his
law ofilce in Norwalk, and had been
confined to his bed for some weeks. and
at one time it was feared he 11011121 not
recover, but by good treatment and an
excellent mother‘s care, be lit reported
now out of danger. " During hissicknesa
his father was confined to the house by
a severe attack of eryaipelas, which ad-
ded much to the mother’a care; and on
Monday the war taken down with pneu-
monia which in addition to physical ex~
narration caused her death on Wedueaday

deepest joy of wedded life brought her
prematurely to her death bed. The dc—
ceased was a member of the Methodist
Church. and was well known in this
place and in Ridge-field. She had many
warm friends and during her much
sufiering she has had the deep sympathy
of many hearts. She was a native of
England. and leaves three sisters to
mourn her loss. She was a devout
member of the Methodist Church and a
willing helper in all good works.
A New Steuruer.
A new steamer. just launched at U rape~
vine Point, increases the New Haven
oyster fleet. She is the C. \\'. Hoyt. and
was built by John Doyle. formerly \1 11h
H. H. Hauscom. She was modeled by
the gentleman for whom she is named.
She is fifty-two feet in length; sixteen
feet on the beam. six feet in depth of
hold, and has a capacity of 1,000 bushels.
Her boiler is four and one-half feet in
diameter, and nine in height, and was
made bv “'illiam Lowe. She has a ten
by ten owland engine. Her make-up
is different from any other steamer pre-
viously built, she having her engine
room, boiler room and pilot house in one.

thirty and forty miles to New York city
markets. sold to the middlemen next
morning. bought by our dealers. brought
here in the afternoon and sold that even~

As we have before said. an abundance of
fresh vegetables at reasonable prices is a
matter of great value to any place. It

modious one, 83 feet long, 22 feet beam.
