Yesterdsy eggs I genuine democratic

in regard to votes in this section. The
day peeved ofl quietly. but there was
considerable amount. of pulling and haul-
ing by the local workers. In this town
there was three tickets in the fieldifor
representatives) republican. democratic
end prohibition. There was only two
candidates for state senator. the prohibi-
tioniats endorsing Mr. Baker. The result
is an overwhelming defeat for Mr. “'hcel-
er for Scooter for the 13th district. and
the republicans elect both of their repre~
sentstives in this town. Below we give
the result.

grand dinner on New Years day to the
house of the mayor they had helped to
elect. and the democratic party cried out
that the Reform Association was a Re-
publican ring. ilnd that it was formed by
republicans for a party movement. Now
if it was right to holdamucus‘n year
ago with our presulent at its head. is it
not right now? And if it was right to
appmpriate money to help on the republi-
cnn election it was right for the boys to
appropriate money for the temperance
e cction. It seems h poor excuse that we
had no right to do what we had been
taught to do by our lender‘s example.
Now we did not stand by the republican
partv this time. so we got no invitations

them. And new the republicans say we
are a democratic ring. What has made
