The arrests on the charge of murder are
based on new evidence discovered by
I‘iiikerton's detectives. who have been
working up the case for a long time. and
it is claimed. have evidence enough to
make out a strong case. State Attorney
chiycnden. of Stamford went to New-
tnwn Friday to represent the State. and
D. Ii. Lockwood. of Bridgeport. is defend-
ing the occuscd. The hearing is causing
great excitement in the place and the
Court room was crowded with intensely
interested spectators.

Three or four times our damsel tried to be
very funny. but we nipped her humor in
the bud. Finally, thrfiugli hard trials and
great tribulations, we arrived at the bridge.
Our lady was on the stairs. and we stop-
ped cut to go up too. The stairs were
slippery. ‘Wc slipped. One boot kissed
the water, but we clung to the post des-
perately and thus escaped a ducking.
We vowed that never again would we
trust ourselt on the water. although it
looks tempting. still there lurks a hidden
terror on the brine. We have thus basti-
ly put together one experince in our life,
in hope that we may find sympathizors
