CONCLUSION.
I did not get my discharge until the 18th
of March 1865. I was laying in bed one
sflcrnmn wbvu an order came for me to re-
port in headquarters for my discharge pupcrs
and that was just what I wanted. I rcpnrc

papers, and all of the money that the gov-
ernment owed me and my lrunsunrlatlou in
New York. There was no steamer guiug
