tirely. and it lacks the energy to enforce

There are men enough for the places. if
the voters wilt only select them. Politics
should not be considered. for political mens-

January 18th. 1874. we published it short
biographical sketch of Mr. Ilill. with the
portrait reproduced at the head of this or
ticlc. From it we} condense the following
brief history of his early life and principal
business transactions:—
