give the molt of my experience in the use
of salt. My first experience was in 1872
when I used two tons salt and platenequal
parts. sbwed by hand on an old meadow (3
acres) 600th to the acre. applied the Slh
of May. Crops out about middle of July.
fair crop. but could not feel ussured that the
salt and plaster had increased the yield,wzts
rather inclined to believe ll (lld not. But
soon after mowing a second growth sprung
up. which wasunusual and unexpected.und
continued to-grow till checked by frost.
This second growth, if cut, would havo
yielded nearly. or quite as much, as the first
crop. This aftermath I attributed to the ac-
tion of the salt 0nd plaster. On the same
day of sewing the. salt and plaster (8th of
Muy) on the old meadow, I sowed one
breadth terms it no meadow. which wu
mowed about the 25th of July, bet we failed
to see any difference in the gross where the
