After retiringfrom mercantile business. it
was his intention. at least for n time. to re-
main quiet. and look after a little farming
business, be having had for many years a
farm and men employed to work it; but it
was not his nature to slow up. and sit down
to so tame a vocation as farming. and he
took hold of several enterprises. and was
ismin engaged in a variety of business that.
