Through the courtesy of P. L. Cunning-
ham, of our city, a delegate to the Grand
Lodge of Odd Fellows at Chicago, week he-
forehst. we are in receiptof the GrandSee—
retary’a Report, and several other valuable
documents relating to the order. The meet-
ing was one of the largest and most import-
ant ever held by the order, besides being one
of the pleasantest. The address of welcome
to the officers and ntives of the
Grand Lodge, was by P. S. G. Judge Rogers

The Grand W‘s report gives the
following flgmu, mowing the benevolent
features of the institution : Number of
lodges, four thousand, two hundred and
ninety—seven; number of munhas, three
hundred and twentyeix thousand, three hun—
dred and eleven; revenue of Grand Lodge
and Grand Encampmt, three million, four
hundred and mtrthree thousand, four
hundred sixty-one dollars, and fifty-three
cunts; amount paid out for benevolent pur.

thousand and fifty—one dollars, and fifty-sev-
en cents. This relief is distributed among
distressed brothers, widows, burying the
dead, and educating the orphans. Number
of brothers relieved, twenty-eight thou.
sand, three hundred and fifty-two; number
of widowed families relieved, four thousand,
six hundred and five; number of deaths, two
thousand, eight hundred and twenty-four.
Other figures show a healthful increase of
membership and revenue during the past
year. The present assets of the Grand Lodge
as reported by the Grand Treasurer, are over
fourty thousand dollars. A resolution was
passed allowing represent sfiva a mileage of
five cents per mile in going to and returning
from the Grand Lodge by the shortest route,
and a per diem of six dollars, while in see
aion. The Grand Lodge was handsomely
entertained by the Chicagoans, and accord-
ing to the reports of the papers, everything
passed ufi‘ in the most agreeable manner.
Arrest of Burglara.
At twenty minutes past two o‘clock on
Saturday morning. its omens Tuttlc sud

discovered that one of the buck windows
was up. They quickly and quietly passed

the place of entrance lest the rogue should
escape. They found a large lot of goods

thief. Ou finding that be was discovered
the man sprang to his feet, with the inten-
tion of attacking the officers; but at the
sight of two policemen, who did not show
conditionally, and was locked up.
The man, who gave his name us “'illism
Hammond, of Providence, said he had an
iccomplice named “ Charlie,"_of New Hn-
ven, who had just gone out tusce that every-
thing was right for removing the goods
