The demand of prospective home
owners seems to be centered upon
the two family type of house. Mr.
:Baker explained. These houses
snake not only an ideal home for
the owner‘s family but also provide
h: reasonable income to help carry
the burden of new home-ownership.
‘The fact. too. that Norwali: can

.age is particularly attractive to these
homo seekers, Mr. Baker pointed
out. because most of them are in
“quest of something that the con-

, This acreage. providing a yard.
.and maybe :1 flower and vegetable
ill-don. is largely a determining
doctor in the sale of homes, Mr. Ba-
(er said. It is oftentimes the chief
man with kindly eyes and silvered
hair. the respomlbillty for acquir-
ing tho‘home is hers. She is the
purchasing agent for the family. the
home builder. home manngcré—the
hope of’thc family. .
Husbands would be selfish if they
didn't stand back and let her do-
cide in which house she is to live.
Mr. Baker believes. for she is always
in it. It is her home. her shop and
her recreation. She is the active
partner in the business of home
ownership and home operations. and
ln‘Mr. Baker's opinion it is gen-
eraliy she who creates the desire
for a home of her own and begins
the dreams of the shelter that the
family can best afford.
Mr. Baker believes the wife is
better equipped as the‘ purchasing
agent because it is through her slim,
safe fingers that the family sav-
ings have been acquired. because
she shops. compares, studies and
weighs values. and is a constant fol-
lower of newspaper advertising so
that she may find where and when
to buy and what and how to buy
safely and economically that her
home may be attractive, beautiful
and individual; the kind of a home
that her husband appreciates but
never fully realizes how it was cre-
ated,
. Roy Carlson. local contractor. has
completed the cellars for the two
new six room houses to be con-
structed in Wallace avenue, Marvin
beach. for Mrs. Sara Lane.
The framework will be started at
once. Garages will be constructed
in the rear. The contract for the
plumbing work has been awarded
to Thomas J. Keogh. Other sub
contracts have at been lot as yet.
Mrs. Lane ha ' constructed a num-
ber of houses at Marvin Beach.
