Dear Sir:
As a friend of the less fortunate
than myself, I am sending
this bit, wishing sincerely it could have
been a much larger gift.
FRIEND.
And with the letter was a dollar bill.
This is typical of the response to
the appeal to make this Christmas
the happiest and merriest enjoyed
by the inmates of the town's poor
term.
In the majority of instances the
very rich cannot bridge the gap of
circumstances which separate them
from those whom Dame Fortune
Naramako home have sent in con-
lributions of $5 each, bringing the
cash received. with that already an-
nounced, to 321.
There are 33 men and women at
the Naramake home. 28 men and
five women.
Into the Sentinel office this morn-
ing was brought a package contain-
ing five boxes of candy.
"This is for the five women at the
poor farm so their Christmas may be
a. little happier." said the lady who
brought it.

dollar counts and who know the
pinch of want can accurately recre-
ate their misory and the more readi-
ly volunteer to bring Christmas
cheer to them.
