Whether Yochelman will enter a
plea of "not guilty" when his case
comes up in City court. or whether
he will waive examination and be
bound over immediately to the su-
perior court has not been decided.

MIDDLETOWN. (AP) — The
threatened strike of undergraduates
of Wesleyan University against com-
pulsory chapel has been temporarily
averted by the conference of a stud-
ent committee Saturday with the fa-
culty and trustees. The otflclal re-
port of the committee' s presentation
of the student viewpoint in yester-
day's “Argus,” undergraduate publi-
cation. indicated that the discussion
showed the faculty open minded on
the subject and waiting for proof of
general student opinion. '

WASHINGTON. _ (APl—A shadow
of further impeachment proceedings
fell over the senate yesterday as it
voted 70 to 9. to dismiss the charge.
against Federal Judge English of
the eastern Illinois district. who
resigned November 4.
Senator Reed democrat Missouri.
surprised the senate_ by suggesting
that it devise means of obtaining
testimony in impeachment pro-
ceedings without the necessity of sit-
ting es a court. because. he ex—

have been correctly informed."
He did not amplify this state-
ment on the senate floor and when
questioned later he declined to dis-
cuss it.
The English proceedings came to
