Jews of Norwaik in the Y.ilI.H.A.
o'clock Sunday evening. in addition
to commemorating the 5.687th anni-
vvi‘sary of the Chnnukae festival. the
entertainment will also mark the
formal opening of the Nonka ile-
brew school in its new quarters.
The event will begin with the cor-
emony of lighting the Chnnukah
candles. which will he done by Man-
l-CI Knishkon. and following this
exercise there will be, numerous He-
brew songs and rociuiis by the tie-
trcw school pupils under the direc-
tlcn of Dr. E. Jal‘fe. Violin and
piano solos. together with exhibition

presented to the children of St.
Mary‘s church parochial school.

it is entirely edible except for pieces
of colored tinfoil used to imitate
stained glass windows.
The model is a marvel of the con-
fectioncr's art. No bracing was
used in its building. The walls are
of solid shoot milk cholocate, ce-
mented at the joints and dccornioii
with frieze: and window easements
of the some mate-rial.
Eien the miniature stolrwaya are
chocolate. The center or main en-
trance is laid with a strip of scar-
let tinfoil to represent carpet. A
grass plot about the model is mnde
of shredded coconut in green and
and edged with chocolate strips

and windows are perfect in propor-
tion and execution. and are mottled
to imitate carved decorations.
The modr-l is two feet high and
three deep through the main portion
and has two steeples. one on either
side of the front elevation. These

surmounted by crosses and are
about three feet n height over all.

out of cardboard, afterward being

uance on bond of 53.000 furnished

avenue. was rearrested last night
when Dobklowicz recalled the bond.
Lockwood has. since tried in court
and given a chance to patch up mat.
tors. married the girl. Lockwood
will be retried because he has not
supported the girl since marriage.

More Vacuum Cleaners

Labor leaders are eager to know
how many vacuum cleaners are
owned by the government and notice
has been given that the subject: is to
be brought up in the House of C3111-
mons in the interests of the chair-
women who take care of the White-
hall government offices. The claim
has been set forth that the charwo-
men are over-worked and underpaid
and an effort is to be made to have
the‘ government set up a committee
of Inquiry to look into the matter
thoroughly.
Spokesman for the charwomen
accuse the government Office of
Works of going too far in order to
economize. They assert that the
charwoman are now held moo si-
ble for cleaning 2.500 superficial
feet per head. Instead of 2000 super-
ficial feet as formerly. The cbsrwo-
men also are required to clean: walls
which they contend is not a. part of
their job. as this pace-itates more
or less ladder climbing and there.
