Molasses Pudding.
One cup molasses. i~2 cup granu-
lated sugar. 4 tablespoons melted
lard. 1-: cup hot strong coffee. 2
cups flour. 1 teaspoon soda. l-e tea-
spoon salt. 1 teaspoon ginger.
1 teaspoon cinnamon. 1-2 teaspoon
cloves. 1 egg.
Combine molasses, sugar. lard and
hot coffee. Mix and sift flour. salt.
soda and spices and stir into first
mixture. Beat until perfectly smooth
and add egg beaten until very light.
Turn into a deep cake pan with a
chimney or a dripping pan. Bake 25
minutes in a moderate oven if the
dripping pan is used. or (0 minutes
in a tube pan. Cut in sguarcs and
serve warm with whipped cream
sweetened and flavored with van.

If the tube pan is used. remove
pudding from pan. fill cavity with
whipped cream and cover entire
pudding thlcfly with it. Serve at the
table. This makes a festive looking
dessert for company.

joyed the program of games and
music that had been prepared for
them. The ‘Mysiery booth" was a
very attractive and popular spot
with the younger folk and almost
sold out in the afternoon. :
The evening session of the fair
was very well attended by both the
young and old. All the booths found
many buyers for the food. fancy-

pie entertained the “Jolly 400" at
which the members were all loathe
to go home as the day passed all
too quickly.
The next meeting of the “Jolly
400" will be held at the home of
