Mrs. Rollin V. Sherwood. a. mem-
ber of the prise easy contest cont-
nilttes. which was conducted by the
students at the schools during Book
Week. announces the committee is
finding it very dltiioult to select
winners among the Junior High
school students who wrote essso's on
advertising due to the [act that
there were so many fine essays sub-
mitted. Mrs. Sherwood took the el-
snl's to New York. Judges commend-
ed the work very highly and wish-
ed to use some of the work in an
exhibit or a similar nature to be
held in New York.

Mrs. Sherwood also commented on
the English used in the essays. and
those submitted by pupils from
Bridge Street school were also given
iuvmnblc mention.

 

The Westport Lihrsn will be
open every Sunday afternoon and
evening (ram 3 to 9 o'clock. begin-
ning December ii. The regular win-
ter program will be followed. No
books will be taken from the library.
but magazines and newspapers will
be available to those who patroniss
the building.

A special Thanksgiving dinner was
served to the members and their
friends at the Westport Country club
