the polling place ob the fifth ward
had always been at the Central fire
station. The fifth ward takes in part
of the Springwood section. Smith.
ville. Harbor View as well as ltoway-
ton and many of the residents in
Harbor View and Springwood sec-
tions claim that with the polling
place in Botayton the distance is
too great .for. them to travel.
A total of 1.726 votes were cast
in the first ward 1.722 in the sec-
ond district. 888 in the third. 01! in
the fourth and 382 in the fifth.
The count of the election was com.
pleted early and it was only [very
short time after the polls closed that
