At Hartford For ‘
Two Day Session
Every city and important town in
Connecticut will be represented at
the second annual convention of the
Connecticut Association of Real Es-
tate Boards. to be held at Hartford
October 27 and 21. The convention
sessions will be open not only to
members of the affiliated boards.
but to all who are identified with
the real estate business.
Mayor Norman C. Stevens of
Hartford will welcome the real es-
tate men at the opening session on
the morning of the 27th at the Ho-
tcl Bond. w ch will be convention
headquarters. There will ‘he an at-
ternoon session on the 21th. and the
banquet will be held that evening.
The real estate men are expected to
be accompanied by their wives. who
will be entertained by a ladies' re-
ception committee. On the 28th
there will be a morning session. af-
ter which the Hartford Real Es-,
late Board will entertain the visitors'
at luncheon. This will be followed
by a. contest for the best five-minute
address. "The Best Town in Conn-
ecticut." In which representatives of
the several boards will boost their
home towns and cities. In the after-
noon the visitors will be taken on an
automobile tour of inspection of
Hartford. ,
Mon prominent in real estate ect-
ivlty and allied professions from
various parts of the country will be
the speakers. Governor John H.
Trumbull has accepted an invitation
to attend the banquet.

With one million dollars as its
goal. a national committee of 1,500
men will campaign during October
for an educational endowment fund
for the Order of DeMolay. Frank
8. Land. grand scribe of the or.
gsnlzatlon. announced today that Do-
Molay chapters would be the first
subscribers and estimated they
would raise about $140,000 to start
the fund.
The income .from the endowment
will be used for scholarships. voca-
tional guidance and to aid members
to complete theii educations, who
are hampered by finances. The com-

Production Record
During August
PONTIAC. Mich. — All previous
monthly production records were
shattered by the Oakland motor
car company during August when
11, 97'! Greater Oakland Sixes and
Pontiac Sixes were produced.
factory output has not as yet: caught
up with sales on either car. these
figures are synonymous to sales.
Not only were all previous month-
ly production records broken on
total number of cars produced but:
all previous monthly production
figures on both the Greater Oakland
Six and Pontiac Six were exceeded.
The total production figures were
close to 3.000 greater than July out.
put. the previous record month.
During August the 50.000th Pon-
tiac six was produced and shipped
out. This number of Pontiecs has ‘
been produced in less than eight“
months. starting in January with
an initial productlt‘m of but 00 cars
a. day. Also during August the
largest single day's output in the,
history of the company was record-
ed when 906 cars were produced.
All the first week in September
saw this year's total production pass
the 100,000 mark.
September production called for
approximatelp the same number of
cars as were produced in August the
peak capacity of the factories until
the completion of the $7.000.000 ad-
dition upon which 1.000 workmen
are now engaged. Plans call for
production to start in this new fac-
tory January 1.
Westport venue
A very attractive inn will be open-
ed in Westport avenue opposite the
Home for the Aged early in the win-
ter by Wallace 1P. Vollmer o: Nor-
walk in the former Villa Crest
Sanitarium which has been exten-
sively remodeled. The aims of. the
place has not yet been decided.
