flackley of Philadelphia. formerly a
resident of Rowsyton. it coutslns
newspaper clippings. pictures. pro-
grams. oa rds. announcements
and a report of the history of the
library and reading room. To many
residents of the town the pictures
of the street fairs held for several
. “salvo years. pasted in the book.
bring back memories of numerous
pleasant affairs held for the benefit
of the library.
Programs of plays. concerts. water
carnivals. art exhibits. lawn festi-
vals; lectures. recitals. and other
forms of entertainment are among
the interesting clippings. The histor-
ical sketch. written by Miss Mary F.
Hackiey. then secretary and trees.
uror of the asscclation is most in-
teresting. it starts with the opening
of the library December 29 190i and
continues to October 1. 1007. It has
been suggested a scrap book be
started again when the library opens
in its new home. if done. it would
undoubtedly entertain many of the
rising generation in futureyears.

rigged their lines for smelt and
frost fish. which are reported as be-
ing quite plentiful in the river this
year.
