Now that the very attractive new
‘ Liggett's store on the ground floor
' is about cempleted. the attention of
the contractors is being diverted to
the remodeling of the second and
third floors.
This remodeling is being done to
. the former Leon Golden Building in
Washington. For many years the
nggett company occupied one store
on the main floor and Leon Golden
. the other store and the second floor.
= The .third floor was devoted to
storage purposes. Increased business
of the drug store demanded addition.
at store space and Leon Golden mov-
- ed out.
Architect Harry W. Mather has
Planned the alterations which al-
ready bid to be very attractive.
There will be a staiilvsy at the
east end of the building. 0n the sec-
ond floor will be six offices. and on
the third floor. will be two apart.

Business Growing.
Work is advancing rapidly on the
825.000 addition which is being
constructed in the rear of the Hatch
’ and Bailey company's mill on Ann
street. The T. J. Pardy construc-
p tion company of Bridgeport has the
contract for the job.
The new stucture will measure
' 62x130 feet. and will be of brick
and mill construction. Machinery
will be installed in theafirst floor
of the building. and the second and
third floors will be used for lumber
storage. It will be finished in three
months.
The Pardy company employs a
crew of eight men on this job now
and will add more to it within a
. few weeks. as soon as the founda-
tion is complete. Work was start-
ed a week ago. John Johnson.
Bridgeport. is superintendent of the
construction.

force at the new Walter Lissberger
Liberty laboratories. Newtown sve-
nuc. and with several smaller Jobs
on hand. contractor George Lamb.
East Norwslk. has been kept very
busy during the past few weeks.
He is in charge of the carpentry
work on the 820.000 laboratory for
Mr. Lissberger. which will be em-
ployed for rubber chemical research.
William .H. Keeliiner designed the
structure which is of Tudor style.
Mr. Lamb has recently completed
work on a five room house for Eliza
Ryder. Chestnut Hill. He started
work this week on alterations for
Addison Johnson, Chestnut Hill.
An alteration Job for Frank Kel-
ley pottery designer. Cranburry. is
nearing completion. Mr. Lamb was
in charge of the construction of a
new studio and display room. The
cost of repairs was about $5,000.
Fuller Company Ready
To Start On Third
House In Hudson Ct.
Hudson Court. Norwalk's newest
development, is already being built
up. The R. H. Fuller Construction
company. the developers of the
tract. are completing two residences
and starting another one.
The first two houses were from
private plans and are 28 x 89 feet
each. They are of frame construc-
tion. arranged for two families with
five rooms to each tenant. There
will be hot water heating.
The approximate cost of the first
two houses will be about $20,000.
