held last. night by the Rowayton
Hose company carnival entertain-
-ment committee, of which Russell
Thomas is chairman, was a decided
success. The grounds were filled
with an enthusiastic crowd of visit-
ors who applauded with great vim
for their favorites. The Judges of
the contest were Miss Eleanor Dav-
enport. Rowaytou avenue: Miss Mar-
garet Gaston. Penuoyer street; and
Clement Mason. Crockett street. En-
trants in the contest for the younger
girls under six were the Misses Mar-
icn Frances Lacey and Florence
Battison. The little tots *looked
very cute as they tripped the light
fantastic to the strains of music

Christ Church Fair
In Redding Tomorrow

The annual fair of Christ church
parish, Bedding, under the auspices
of the Woman's auxiliary. will be

held on the lawn of Christ church
rectory, Bedding Ridge, Thursday.
commencing at. a p. m.

This event will be held under the
guise of a. gypsy village. So varied
are the wares of the gypsies there
will be something to meet every
taste. it is promised. There will be
a. gift shop, where there will be
many surprioes.

Smacks. quilted Sofa pillows, bags .
of all kinds, and week-end cases will
constitute one of the new sections of
the fair. Home-made candy will be
sold at one of the booths.

Pony rides will be one of the
many interesting attractions for
children.

A cafeteria supper will be served
on the lawn iiom 5:10 to 7:30
o'clock. During this period there
will be music by the orchestra.

The gypsy show will be held in
tho gates-tum of the Ridgewoid
Inn. at 1:15. followed by dancing.
The music will be furnished by the
l‘sirfiold orchestra.

We need some heavyweight liter-
ary luminary to advise us whether
