Despite the rain over 50 ladies
were counted at the card party yes-
terday afternoon given under the
auspices of the Women's guild of
St. Luke’s church. Noroton, at the
home of George Baker on the Post
road. It was intended to hold the
party on the lawn of Mr. Baker's
estate. but the rain interfered and
the tables were moved onto the
porch. The results of the benefit
are not yet known hilt it is believed
that the efforts of the ladies to make
the event a success were realized.
