Dear Sir:

Permit me to speak a word of commendation for The Evening Sentinel
in its efforts to lead us to a deeper appreciation of Norwalk. -

It is .easy for one to become a knocker. But it is profitable neither for
the indiVidual nor for the community. And it is not at all diflicult to become ~
aliail-eover-zealousbooster. But neither is such a booster profitable norndesir-

. a . , '

It is, however, of very great importance that-we appreciate our own town

, and that we manifest an intelligent interest inevery p ase of its development.

N orwalk ‘has certain assets which are really very much worth appreciat-

ing. When .I came here about eight years ago was deeply impresse by the

natural beauty of this town and its environs, its many beautiful trees and

stone walls, its streets and roads winding over hills and through valleys, its

commodious harbor and the picturesque grou of islands near its entrance.
Surely nature has dealt with N orwalk with a avish hand.

I‘ was also impressed by the fact that the citizens of Norwalk were a re-
markably homogeneous group. There are few of great wealth here; there is
also little poverty. ,These are rather unusual and valuable assets. They should
makes. strong appeal to the wide awake and progressive individual who is

seeking acommunity in which to establishan industry, a business or a home.

All honor to The'Evening Sentinel for its efforts in behalf of Norwalk.
May-an ever increasing'number of our citizens. co-operate with you for a
