strange that she believed him insane

Dr. Stiles D. Lawrence, Norwalk
chlropodlst. today was granted a
divorce from C.‘ Emerson Barker.
llridgeport, employee of the Ameri-
can Railway Express company. The
decree was handed down by Judge
Alfred 0 Baldwin of the Superior
Court after an uncontested hearing
and Mrs. Barker was awarded the
custody of her two children.
The father was ordered to pay 310
a week towards the support of the
youngsters. Mrs. Barker told Judge
Baldwin that she was married. May
12. 1917, in Norwalk. At i'Je time
she was 16 years of age and a stu-
dent in the Norwalk High school.
She stated that she had known her
husband, for eight months prior to
their marriage, but had known his
family all her life. "I had no idea
or the kind of man he was." said
Mrs. Darken.
She left her husband lest Febru-
ary claiming that she was no long-
er able to stand his treatment. Mrs.
', Barker's health has been seriously
imparted by the husband's alleged
acts of cruelty.
