day engagement at the Rialto thei-
lts with George O'Brien and Madge
I{Bellamy cast in the principal roles.
Havoc." is from the stage play
which made such a. tremendous anc-
urea in New York city. The screen
version is just as startling and thril-
ling as the play and even more cap-
tivating. It deals with the World
war. during one of its most import-
ant phases. O'Brien and Miss Bel-
!atny have important characters to
uortray and they give a splendid ac-
.ount of themselves in this produc-
ion. "Havoc." is replete with sus-
pense and thrilling incidents.
PALACE
W. C. Fields who with his comedy
made thousands laugh when he was
in the "Follies." is now in motion
pictures to make millions laugh.
Fields will be shown today only at
the Palace theatre in "It's The Old
Army Game." In which he is given
unlimited opportunities to produce
the golden laughter everyone cher-
ishes. Fields will keep you laughing
until you can‘t stop. With this fea-
ture. an interesting added attraction
is offered. It is a scenic entitled

After Short Illness At
His Home In Shelton
William J. Curlliss. Judge of the
Shelton probate court, and prese-
cuting attorney oi filo City court.
died at ll o‘clock yesterday morn-
ing of pneumonia. He was 38 years
old and had been ill but a week.
Judge Curnnis was one of tho best
known lawyers in Nailgatllck valley
and was prominent in all civic acti-
\ltloa. He established his office in
I-lhelion about seven years ago. lie
Iormcrly resided in Bridgeport.
He was a graduate of New York
university. Before he entered college
in study Imv. Judge Curnias was an
accountant. lie was appointed pro-
sccutor of the City court in Shelton.
in 1920. and has been reappointed
ovory‘two years since then.
He was a member of Bernardo
Council. K. of C.. in Shelton. and
also a member of the Bridgeport
Lodge of the Elks and Kiwanis ‘club
in Shelton.
The death of Judge Curnlas will
be 'sorloiisly felt in Shelton. His
death has left a wide gap in the ef-
rairs of the town and his place on
the bench will be hard to fill as;
adequately as he had done so. ‘
The funeral will be held from St.
Joseph's church in Shelton Friday
