Yale War Memorial Will
Be Built This Summer
NEW HAVEN. blny 20.—Yale's
memOrial to her 237 students and
graduates who lost their lives in
the Great War will be begun after
Commencement. June 23. or this
year, the University announced to-
day. The contracts have been let to
the Sperry and Treat Company of
New Haven. Thomas Hastings, of
New York. is the architect.
The memorial will take the form
of a colonnnde on the south side of
the Yale Dining Hall. with an altar:

will be made in the Hewitt Quad-
rangle in front of the colonnude s”

The Yale Alumni Advisory board
presented the funds (or the memor-
ial to the University. A committee of
the beard headed by Frederic W.
Allen. '00, of New Yul-0k City, in-
terested the graduates in the pro-
posal. The type and location of the
memorial were determined by the
board on the recommendation of
another committee composed of
James Gamble Rogers. '80; William
