Girl Scouts
The Bridgeport Girl Scouts will
hold a. tully. Saturday. May 8, at
2:30 p. 111.. at the Connecticut State
Armory when there will be a de-
divialons of the Scout activities. All
the Scouts of the city. in full uni-
form, will take part and it will be
one of the lamest scout affairsl or
its kind ever held here.

There is no doubt but that this is
a wondcrtul opportunity'ior all who
delight in art to see a group of pic-
tures which are very dissimilar in
technique and coloring.
George W. Pickneli will be repre-
sented by marines and landscapes.
His s‘ubjeots. painted on,the coast
of Maine. at Gloucester. and also
the sound near South Norwalh are
luminous and mellow in coloring.
He has in his pal ting. which l 111
rare these days: ouch of poetry
with his realism. In his landscapes
he brings his love of truth. and a
quaint. fine. dreamy quality.
In the pictures of Mrs; Ada
Guthrie there is a. bright but her-
oue arrangement of color. Bile
delichts in depicting scenes on the
Bilvermino River: and these can‘
vases are drawn with an easy flow
or the brush. and have also a sense
of decoration about them. .

this exhibition. No one should let it
so by. 011 the opening day. which
