caterpillar has increased to such an

Several public spirited citizens of
Rowayton have started a fund to be

the Rowayton public school. who
brings in the largest number of egg-
clusters of the tent catterpillar.
The prise money. when collected.
will be turned over to Mrs. Joseph
Standish. assistant post—mistress and
will be given. by her to the winner.
It more than ten dollars is collect-
ed. an extra prise will be awarded.
This post is much more detrimen-
tal to our vicinity than to the more
crowded sections of the Norwalk.
The unusual amount of snow‘and
ice during the month of February
prevented the children of this sec‘
tion from collecting as many egg-
clusters as they otherwise would.
The contest starts today and will
continue until April 10. All egg-
clusters are to be given to the teach-
er of the class the pupil is in and
she will record :the number each
child brings. ‘
