Denial.
A week of prayer and self denial
will take place at the salvation
Army hall from March 28 to April 4.
During this period an effort will be
made to raise a. sum of money for
missionary work at home and
abroad. The self denial fund is used
for work at home and abroad.
The share that is sent into foreign
fields will help the comrades who
are carryianorward the work of the
army at great hazard and sacrifice.
It will take succor. material coni-
fort and spiritual enlightenment to
thousands upon thousands of suf-
ferers. The share that is kept at
home will be used in the financing of
those branches of the social service
which are having the most diflicult
time meeting their budget rcqulre~
merits.
Also it will enable us to carry both
our rclilzious and social work into
new territory.
The effort will be in the nature of
a. sacrificial gift and while it will
furnish substantial help to our com-
rades in the foreign fields. it is hoped
that great blessing will come to all
who participate. The public is
asked to aid in this effort and any-
one desiring to do so is requested to

another great and tragic problem is
being attacked in our leper colonies
with a population of 1.000 sufferers.
In India there are hospitals and
dispensarles in all five territories.
homes for children. for discharged
prisoners and for unfortunate worn-
en, and a colony for the criminal
tribes. :40 effective has been this
phase of missionary work that the
governments in the sellers! fields are
turning to the Army for advice and
assistance in the solution of all kinds
of social problems.
