I am pleased to respond to your request for a statement of “Why I be- Ileve in NorWalk. ” As a new-comer, -I am frequently asked, “How do you like Norwalk 7” So naturally enough, I have been made somewhat conscious of my reactions. My answer invariably is, “Very much and why shouldn’t I like it?” That generally ends the argument. Of course I like Norwalk on general principles. When a men can’t learn to “like” the community into which he brings his family, and, in my case, the community he tries to serve, there must be something the matter with the man—that is, usually. ' I am pleased to say that my liking for this community has already de- veloped into a faith in the people of Norwalk. 1am impressed with the interest which citizens are demonstrating in their schools. This, to me, is a true reflection of their interest in the civic and social welfare of the community and its children I believe the people of Norwalk are ready and willing to assume to the full, these civic responsibilities which are so full of significance for the ‘ greater Norwalk of tomorrow ' 1 It is this faith in Norwalk which not only makes my job tolerable, but \which makes it at once a challenge and. a responsibility Grant us vision and faith and we can move mountains.
