Two heavy and valuable dray
horses. owned by Patrick .1. Domain
Bridgeport truclunen. unged to
their death by drowning the icy
waters oi the Wall street dock.
Bridgeport. yesterday etternoon.
with bystanders looking helpl
on while the horses struggled to ree
themselves at harness. holding them
to ‘a wagon and losing to sink out
of eight. The accident is almost a
duplicate of one that happened at
the same spot. about IO years ago.

The horses were engaged in haul-
ing the new iron: the streets to be
dumped into the harbor and in the
blinding snowstorm the driver.
Thomas Doolen. a. brother of the
owner. booked them too near the
edge oi the dock and the roar wheels
wont ever. An effort was made to
pull the cart back on the‘dock but
a chain broke and the heavy cert
dragged the hen over. The wagon

on the entire electrified division at
2:32 p. in. Emergency power was
obtsined q‘uieloiy. however. and at
2:35 there was power train Cos Cob
to New York. Five minutes later
power was turned. on safer ea
Stamford. and norm-ii power condi-
tions were restored at 3:35. or Just
an hour after the mishaps

The railroad was fully prepared
to meetjthovsnowstorm. an at the
first sign or snow' Wednesday eve-
ning the maintenance foreman lined
up their forces and immediately
dispatched men to the different in-
tarlm king plants to melt the snow
and ice in the switches with hydro
carbon. which is poured onto the
rails and ignited. Operators in the

forth in order to keep the switches
from trdeeing up. In spite of these
