The Nor-walk High school wekely
assembly was held yesterday morn-
ing in the auditorium. The assembly
was opened with a hymn. followed
by the Lord's Prayer.
Principal Jakob made the
nouneement that avdanee. given by
the class of 1927. would be held at
the new Center school, Friday at. 8
P. M. The Melody Boys will fur-
nish the music.
Mr. Jakob stated that the students
were favored with two-speakers in
Miss Margaret Brendllnger and Miss
Mabel Thomas of Not-walk. repre-
sentatives of the Norwalk Branch of
University Women. Miss Brendllng-
er was the first speaker and. in at
short talk. she explained the work
of the organization to help students
who wished to acquire a college ed-
ucation. Miss Brendlinger stressed
the importance of n. college educa—
Lion and urged everyone who possi-
bly could. to go to college.
Miss Thomas, who is chairman of
the organization. explained in detail
the plans for helping students who
wished to go to college but did not
have the necessary finances. she
stated that the object of the organi-
zation was to loan the needed money
to a qualified student for one year
of college work and. it the student
succeeded. he was to receive a schol-
arship for four years. The money
would be given out as a loan. to be
paid back within ilve\year9 after
graduation. ‘

finance the class book which will be
printed. The topic of a class play
was also taken up but was left over
