In the San Francisco earthquake
of 1906 a little girl was rescued by
0. waiter named Jimmy Donahue. She
was then given in the cure of a
widow named Mrs. llenty. The girl's
name was Barbie. Her parents could
not be found. The nurse that gave
Jimmy the baby had disappeared.
But Barbie wore a costly Chinese
coat with real jade buttons. This
indicated that her parents Were rich.

Barbie was not 12 years old. No
one heard irom Jimmy for a _ long
time 'and they became worried. One
day Leo. the widow's brother. saw
Jimmy's friend. The friend said
that Jimmy was following a lady
that he“ said was Barbie's nurse.

it is about a winter camp shows his

of the story. its description of the

yery dour picture. and hclps'us to
understand the actions of the girls

I like the story because it is told
simply. and easy to understand. I
think the book is very intern-sling,
and if one wishes to read :1 really
good took. I should suggest “'l‘mii's
