with a total annual business of $6,000,000 to a business in 1023 of more than $300.000.000.
a growth almost unparalleled in American history.
“Manufacturers’ estimates for 1925 indicate a .«ale of 3,000000 radio sets and 20000000
tubes. This year’s volume, according to Major Herbert ll. Frost of Chicago, president of
the Radio Manufacturers’ Association. will exceed last year’s by $200.000000.
“Besides the completed sets, sales of $150,000,000 in parts and accessories indicate a
considerable volume of home-made sets. Th) industry now employs- 300,000 persons in
1,200 plants and 40,000 dealers’ stores, nearly all of which have come into existence in tlte
last five years.
“There are now 584 broadcasting stations. more or less active. and 108 of these are
operated by educational institutions, 47 by churches and 30 .by newspapers.”
If other large Norwalk organizations would follow the example set by the. Norwalk
Tire and Rubber Co. it would not be long before Norwalk would. he on the map in no un-
certain manner.
