ed early today when the St. Louis
”press run into the Pennsylvania
“ train bound from Washington. D. C.
to New York, near here.
Eleven bodies were recovered
from the wreckage of' the Pullman
cars of the Washington train and
two more are still in the wreckage.
The bodies of the dead are being
sent by train to New answlek 11nd

improper attempt had been made to
influence her testimony before the
Shenandoah Board in inquiry. Mrs.
Zachary Lansdowne. widow of the
dirigible's commander. testified 'in
the Mitchell court martial today
that. Captain Paul Foley of tho Na.-
val Board had sent her a letter.
which was an “insult to the memory
of my husband."
The witness said that she could
not produce 11w letter, because she
it after it had been
delivered by 111: witc'of a prominent
naval officer to her. Mrs. Lune-
downe testified that the letter from
the Captain was given her by Mrs.
George W. Steele. Jr.. wife of Cap-
tain Steele of the navy. who is com-
mander of the Lakehurst Air Sta-
tion and of the dirible. "Lost Ange-
' les."
Mrs. Lansdowne further testified
hat the letter Captain Foley sent
or. suggested that' she state her

the finding handed down by Coroner
John J. Phelan today.
Kelly died 011 November 7 as the
result of injuries received when an
automobile. owned by Edward liar-
ry of Glenwmui avenue. and driven
by l'arketon. crashed into a five’ton
Mack truck. in West. avenue, near
Butler street, on the previous even-
ing.
Ills skull was fractured at the
base and he was taken to the Nor-
wulk Hospital, where he died.
The. inquest into the death
held at. the City Hall. Monday.
Coroner l’helap.
2:1 his finding the Coroner stated
that the. automobile had no lights.
and that Kelly's death was the re-
sult. of reckless handling of the 11111-
chine and negligence on the part of
Purim-ton. caused by intoxication.
The truck was driven by Arthur
Ouimet of Springfield, Muss. lie was
not held by the police, as he was not
rtsponsiblc for the accident in any
way.

against Dr. Robert E. Perdue. sched-
uled to be heard in the Superior
Court, before Judge John W. Banks
and a jury today. was settled as it
was about to go to trial.
The suit was the result of a stock
deal and Goldschmldt sought to re-
cover $1,718.99 which he claimed he
loaned Dr. Perdue.
In his answer the doctor set up
that early in 1919 the firm oi! Maples
1E: Goldsclnnidt, with J. Walter Lise-
burger. organized the Indian Pack—
ing Co. and listed it'on the New York
Stock Exchange. Dr. Pcrduc pur-
chased some of the stock at 12 1-2.
and more later. The stock went up
and then dropped. and Dr. Perdue
claimed be deposited his holdings
and those of two friends and asked
that the accounts he closed out. He
said he belicved'that was done and
his indebtedness cancelled.
