The funds for the newly formed
Boy Scout. Council in Darlen will re-
ceive their first contribution from
the bridge and Mah Jong party to
be given by Miss Mary Crimmlns at
her Chilender‘s Point Home this
afternoon. The proceeds will be
equally divided between the Scouts
and the Committee for the Amer-
icanlzation of the Foreign Child.
As many of the Tokenekc and
Collendcr's l'oint resident have re-
served tahles. a. good sum will prob-
ably be turned over to both these
organizations.
The Dorien scouting was for many
years handled through the Stam-
ford Council. until a few weeks ago
when several of the leading citizens
met to discuss the matter. The
main stumbling block of efficient.
scouting in Barton was found to be
lack of 0. good meeting place. The
committee therefore decided to form
a separate council. 'nnd build a
meeting hall for the boys. Andrew
Show donated the use of some of his
land half way between Noroton

Bridgeport presiding. Devotional

walk Baptist church. Business of
the association followed. The rules
of the. order were road. After which
seternl committees were appointed
by the moderator. The annual aer-
tnon was preached by the Ilevcrcnd
.i. C. Hendrickson of the Stamford
Baptist church. A missionary ad-
dress in regard to maintnnce among
the Indians was given by Miss Isobel
Crawford. A report was lead of the
National Convention of the Baptist
association, by the Reverend 1'}. 1'}.
Gates. after which the meeting was
ndeurned for the dinner hour.
At'onc o‘clock a delicious dinner
was served in the basement by the
women of the Baptist church. to
about eighty-live. guests.
During the afternoon nersion a
meeting of the Women's Missionary
society. under the leadership of Miss
E. t'.‘. Link. was held. Three reports
were given in regard to the work to
be done for the coming year. After
this a conference was held by the

Officers were elected for the coming
years. At the close of the conven-
