It was first believed that Ludwig
had a. passenger with him in the
plane, but a search of the wreckage
failed to disclose another person.
Ludwig westound in the bottom or
the cockpit, skull crushed and hle
body wedged in so tightly that. it
was necessary to hack into the
wreckage to remove it.
Persons who had seen the pline
that the pilot dropped the plane to
a. low altitude as it to land on the
water. As it neared the suriaoc, the

dive and collapsed in the river.
Just before the plane hit the we.-
ter, Ludwig was said by some to
have ltdod up in the pilot's seat.
