Mrs. Martin collapsed on the steps

ing work during the day.
' Mrs. Martin was seized with vio-
lent cramps induced by starvation

has the honor of leading the New
Haveh's service roll. From the
same week that General Grant start-
ed his last campaign which result-
ed in victory for the Union forces
to the present time; from the days
of the broad t‘unnellod old wood
burner to the electrically powered
motor of the present day: that is
his record and strange to say it is
a tradition among his fellow em-
ployee that he has never been
known to utter a cross or unkind
word during his working hours.
