Tradition has it that St. Christina

"In actual fact we know veryiittle
about the saTnt. other than that
she died {or the faith about the be-
ginning ol’ the third century.
"There is no doubt that the relics.
which consist of the skull and the
major portions oi! the principal bones
of the' body. are genuine. We know
this because the vial of blood,
characteristic of all martyrs. was
found in her latacomb tomb.
"Also. and perhaps more impor-
tant, St. Christina was vouched for
°by Benedict XIV. the greatest
scholar of his time and the great-
est authority or all times on early
Christian Martyrs.

”Two hundred years or so ago
when Pope Benedict XIV was busy
about his pontincal duties in the
catacombs or St. Popzlanus. he came
across at. Christina. He ordered the
body exhumed. placed his seat on
the reliquary and sent the relics
to a cavonet of the Alliglistinian Sis-
ters, which has since gone out of
dxistence."
It. is planned at present to place
the bones in a. glass casket in the
old' Cathedral building at Cleveland.
where they will be in full public
view. Bishop Schremhs emphasized
there would be no re-burial of St.
Christina. She will be merely en-
shrined.
