portant. at least for the time being,
but that the srnart silhouette will
continue to be that of a woman
standing with her back to the wind!
The truth is that in the new tash-
ions there will be room tor back

that flares all around. A top left in the large circle
are a track showing the side flare and one a circular

all-around flare. Below it a

shows the shoulder flare, which originated with Lan-
oiit of Paris. and the evening frock. has a flare at the
side produced by pleated panels and at the back by a
pleated cape. At the upper right a velvet coat [rock
with flare at baekzand a two-tiered tafleia [rock that
flares at the sides. The half circle at left shows a lace

season is the side flare that appears
in some of the new evening tracks.

suggesting the clothes at the 1880
