tor of Harrington Park, N. .l.. is ac-
cused of murder as the result of the
death or Mrs. Ethel \thclcr from
a drug which in years gone by has
been known as a. “love potion" but
which has other legitimate uses.
Mrs. Wheeler, wife of Herbert
Wheeler. fur buyer for a New York
department store died in a hospital
at I-lnglewood. N. J.. Monday.

powder obtained from a. druggist
friend. in Mrs. Wheeler's drink. he
told police. Mrs. Wheeler collapsed
quickly and was driven from the
oradhousc to the hospital. After he
made his statement to the police,

detectives say.
Mrs. Eleanor During. owner of a
real estate development. with which
her son was associated. said she
had pleaded with Mrs. Wheeler to
let her boy alone. During is 25
years old.
Friends of Mrs. Wheeler said she
had expressed a desire to break off
acquaintance:
“This is the. last time I'm going
to meet Maurice. for I'm going to
break away from his influence."
Mrs. Wheeler was 39 years old
and had been married seven years.
A daughter by a previous marriage
is 17 years old.

Frank Perri and William O'Brien of
Danbury who are camping at
Squantz Pond in this place escaped
what. might have been serious in.
juries Sunday when they were
pinned underneath trees which blew
down. over their camp during the
severe electrical storm. O’Brien was
caught underneath one of the trees
with one foot and managed to free
himself without much trouble, but.
the matter of freeing his companion
was much more complicated.
The camp of the young men is
situated back from the pond at the
edge of a. dense woods.
The heavy mist which accompa.
nied the clectrictl storm blew oveiI
,a large chesnut trees which stood
in back of the tent. The chestnut
in falling bowled over two other
largo trees which were in. its path
and crashed on to the tent in which
Perri and O'Brien had gone to es-
cnpe from the rain.
The tent was leveled all the
camping equipment was ruined, and
the two men were buried under-
neath the wreckage.
the opposite side of the pond saw
the trees fall and hurried to the
-rescue but did not arrive until after
the men had liberated themselves.
Both escaped injury with tho excep-
tion of minor bruises. ~
This accident was the second
which has befallen Perri at Squantl
Pond. Last summer while-in bath<
ing he was seized with cramps and
would have drowned but. for the aid
of his police dog.
However, the young men are still
. undaunted by their experiences.
They have purchased new equip-
ment and expect to occupy the
camp for the remainder of the suma
mer.
Bandits Who Attacked

Five of the bandits who participated
in the-attack on King Boris near
Sofia in April were located by po-
lice near the village of Balliza yes-
terday. In an exchange of shots
the leader of the band. named Ben-
eff. was killed. but the others cs-
coped.
Their identity was established by
objects left behind in their flight.
including the field glasses which the
King left in his automobile after
the attack and a waterproof case
containing the identity papers of
M. Iltcheff. director of the Sofie.
museum. who was killed by the but-
lets intended for the King.
