Up Lodging House
CAMBRIDGE. Mass. June 19.—
(AP). There is one Cambridge lodg-
ing house which this fall will offer
rooms to Harvard students only.
The chemical curiosity of a Massa.
chusctts Institute of Technology stu-
dent which apparently exceeded his
knowledge. resulted in the decision
made known today after an explo-
sion had wrecked the lodging house
laundry.
The student was granted permis-
sion to use the laundry- There fol-
lowed a terrific detonation. The
experimenter fled wild eyed from
the scene in a cloud of smoke. call-
ing frantically for a plumber. When
the smoke‘had cleared it was dis-
covered that the heavy stone fronts
of the tubs had been blown from
their foundations. Floor and col ng
were covered with the disastrous
brew. The landlady inclined to the
belief that her lodgcr had invented
a new explosive.
