D. W. Griffith, the famous motion
picture director. and several of his
players. will be in South Norwaik at
the Rialto Theatre tomorrow and
Thursday to attend the first public
showing of his latest comedy pro~
ductlon. “Sally of the Sawdust."
In the newest work. Griffith has
departed from the more serious tone.
and has made a lively alert comedy
of circus life around the character
of a circus taker and a Young girl
who has been left in his one.
The picture introduces to the
screen W. C. Fields, the star of tho
Ziegfeld Follies. who is certain of
even greater fame as o. screen come-
dian.
His daughter is played by Carol
Dumpster the young Griffith star.
whom the critics declare is the moat
. rapidly developing screen player of
the day. This character is different
from any she ever has attempted.
and in' it she realizes her greatest
success.
For supporting cast, Griffith has
enlisted some of the most prominent
players on the New York stage. The
Juvenile role is played by Alfred
Lunt. who had sensational success
in the recent play "Outward Bount ”
and is now the star in the stage play
success “The Guardsmen."

ing in the nomads under canvas.
At the request of Manager Ham-
ilton. Mr. Griffith will speak‘to the
audience and introduce the players.
