from serious injury or death at 3:30
o'clock yesterday afternoon.
The automobile in which they
wore riding left the Silvermine road
sldeswiped a maple treeand drop-
ped upside down into a brook, in a
lot five feet below the level of the
roadbed.
Mrs. Mayer: suffered two fractur-
ed ribs; and cuts and bruises of the
body. Her son escaped injury. Mrs.
Mayen was taken to her home after
first aid tieetment by Dr. William
W. Tiucey.
Mrs. Mayen was teaching her son.

He won at the wheel on the Silver-
mine road headed for Norwaik.
The young man had the car too

mother. reached over and started to
