scuffle between her mother and the
deceased. she nccldeninllyilrcd the
shot that killed the deceased. We
therefore exonerate her and hold
her blameless."
This was the verdict of the six
men who sat in judgment upon the
calm. self-composed school girl.
it was Rivet-dale‘s manner of
writing "tinis" to an unpleasant
chapter.
Immediately after the verdict.
however. relatives of Miss Simnick
declared they would not be content
to accept such a, disposition of the
case passively.
