why doI'I believe.in Norwalk?

, The question is a well chosen one. Many of us believe in our city with--
out any defining Of_ reasons for that belief. To go into the definition of that
thought is to make those reasons consciohs belief and the true booster is not
an idle boomer. He has the reasons for his town’s superiority at his tongue.

First, to be perfectly frank, I believe 111 Norwalk because it is my town,
I have prospered here and Wasn’t a resident of the town six months before
I had made up my mind that I would make it my permanent home. In fact,
when a mere boy something like twenty-five years ago, I was sent to Norwalk
by my parents as an apprentice in my present line of business and my one
ambition then was some day when I grew up to manhood to establish myself
. in business here. Having realized my boyhood dream in a successful man
ner gives me a double affection for Norwalk.
The ndtural facilities here are well known to all interested citizens and
‘ why our moneyed men do not take advantage of it is beyond me. Norwalk'
is situated second to none as to harbor, railroads, transportation facilities, ~
residential sections, either the shore or the hills; plenty of1 factory sites can
‘be had reasonably which are very advantageous to both the small or large
. manufacturer.
All NorWalk needs' 15 the proper kind of advertising and it is destined to
be the metropolis of COnnectlcut. '

My prediction that NorWalk is destined to be the metropolis of Connecti—'
» cut might be locked upon by some of our residents as a dream, but my first
dream having materialized, I must admit that I believe in dreams to a cer-
tain extent and my Wish is that I will be a resident of this planet Went-y-
. ' five years hence and Witness my second dream come true. But there is this
proviso: we must give Norwalk the proper kind 0f booStmg and advertlsmg
