the issue of The Evening Sentinel
of April 18. 1905:
"The mail box, which {Oi-several
years has been located on one of
the pillars below the west bound ale-
pot. in South Norwalk. was stolen.
last; night. Baggage Master Edward
Bedell states that. it “he taken
sometime between 10:32 last eve-
ning. and 5:32 this morning."
“The Norwalk City Council has H
grievance. The Council has had a
policeman stationed in \Vcst avenue.
especially to see that the speed law
is not violated. but when arrests and
convictions occur as in the case of

the town court. The matter was
talked over at last night's session
of the council. but apparently there
is no remedy for the difficulty.”
